Psychiatric Mental Health Med Management
I’m a dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with nearly a decade of clinical experience. My background in oncology, hematology, and primary care helps me carefully distinguish whether symptoms are medical, psychiatric, or a combination of both, so your treatment plan considers your whole health, not just a list of diagnoses.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, constantly stressed, or like you’ve lost your sense of joy in everyday life, you’re not alone. Many of my clients come to me struggling to focus, manage their mood, or keep up with work and home responsibilities. I specialize in ADHD, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression, and I provide convenient telehealth care for adults across Illinois so you can get support from the comfort of your own space.
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I use a holistic, evidence-based approach. Together, we’ll look at your whole life, including sleep, routines, stress, and relationships, not just your symptoms. Sessions are collaborative and patient-focused, and I’ll explain options clearly, invite your questions, and partner with you to create an individualized treatment plan that works for you.
My path into psychiatry began while caring for patients with cancer and blood disorders who often waited months for mental health support. Seeing the impact of untreated distress and the transformation that happened once care was provided led me to pursue psychiatric certification. My personal experience with postpartum depression deepened that commitment. Having experienced both sides of care, I understand how heavy things can feel beneath the surface.
In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, dancing, spending time with my family, and being outdoors gardening, hiking, and playing with my dog, which helps me bring a calm, grounded presence to our work together. Each session is designed to be calm, respectful, and supportive, offering a space where you can feel understood, regain stability, and move forward with confidence at a pace that feels sustainable.
If you’re ready to feel more emotionally regulated, rediscover joy, and feel more in control of your mental health, I’d be honored to work with you. You can check my real-time availability and request an appointment through my website.
Nita holds dual certification in psychiatry and family medicine, which means your treatment plan always considers both mind and body. She is highly experienced in working with complex medical histories, oncology care, and polypharmacy. Specialized training with an ADHD expert guides careful evaluation of attention, focus, mood, and energy, so ADHD is not overlooked or mistaken for stress or anxiety. This integrated approach supports safer medications, clearer answers, and more targeted, effective care.
Nita's decision to focus fully on mental health grew out of powerful real‑world experiences. She watched oncology patients wait months for psychiatric help, and she personally navigated postpartum depression while balancing motherhood and professional expectations. These moments shaped a practice grounded in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and collaboration. Patients are heard, respected, and supported in English, Nepali, or Hindi, with care that honors their stories, identities, and goals.
